Marijuana Abuse Intervention - How My Friends And I Got Rid Of Marijuana Addiction

Until not long ago, two of my friends and I used to get wasted every afternoon and evening, after work. This had been going on for more than two years now, and although we used to think that it was a stress relieve, marijuana addiction started to get to us.

One of my friends lost his job that he worked hard to obtain because marijuana abuse, his girlfriend left him, throwing him into a very heavy depression. Since he felt really miserable and we really wanted to help him out, we decided to all get sober at the same time. We made a plan which was to become quite a successful marijuana abuse intervention.

We rented a winnebago and all took a week off from work, had some provisions with us and left to a fishing trip. I'm pretty sure none of us thought of fishing. We were all concerned about the symptoms we were about to fight in the next days.

After the first day of fighting marijuana addiction, the effects that kicked in were quite different on each of us. I had severe eye pain, was thirsty all the time and consumed a lot of water and had to go to refill our supply a couple of times.

Rob had a panic attack, which got us a bit concerned because he refused to leave the winnebago for about 12 hours. He was aware though that it was one of the withdrawal effects and decided to take a nap. After 7 hours of sleep, apparently he got a hold to himself and got out of the winnebago.

Mike had a watery mouth, he was spitting all the time and wasn't thirsty at all. He had to force himself to drink water to stay hydrated. He also suffered from lack of appetite and nausea and he didn't eat anything the first day.

We all had headaches and a strange feeling of fear that we couldn't explain. The area was quite peaceful. I guess it's a good thing we were all there to keep ourselves company.

Besides all that we couldn't sleep and despite the fact that we were baking in the sun, we had some nasty chills.

On our last days of our trip the headaches diminished and we felt a bit better. However now the craving started to kick in. I guess it was the last battle with our marijuana addiction.

All in all, it wasn't as bad as I thought. We managed to put our marijuana addiction behind and we all swore not get on the marijuana abuse path once again. Rob has a new job now and he is back on his feet.
